Esta semana volvemos con propuestas específicas para la adaptación del dormitorio para personas con movilidad reducida o riesgo de caída, con el fin de aumentar o mantener el grado de independencia y a su vez disminuir la sobrecarga del cuidador.
Estas personas suelen presentar una limitación motora caracterizada muchas veces por inestabilidad durante la marcha así como en estático por lo que pueden necesitar ayuda física o supervisión de un tercero para las transferencias a la hora de acostarse o levantarse así como para la movilidad dentro del domicilio.
Las principales recomendaciones para mejorar la accesibilidad en dormitorios son las siguientes:
La habitación debe disponer de espacio interior de modo que haya amplitud suficiente para permitir la movilidad del paciente. Para ello se recomienda la eliminación muebles auxiliares o prescindibles como por ejemplo las mesillas.
Se recomienda que la cama tenga una altura suficiente para que la transferencia sea más fácil tanto para el paciente como para el cuidador. Para ello contamos con camas articuladas que nos permiten regular la altura y facilitar el trabajo a la hora de realizar las transferencias así como otras actividades (comer, leer, etc).
En caso de necesitar más asistencia, existen Grúas electrónicas especialmente diseñada para su uso en lugares de reducidas dimensiones y para maniobrar a través de puertas estrechas.
Para favorecer la movilidad en la cama y prevenir caídas son muy recomendables las barandillas abatibles y/o los trapecios.
En caso de que la/el paciente tenga riesgo de padecer úlceras por presión contamos con dos ayudas de gran efectividad por sus resultados contrastados: los sistemas dinámicos de colchón de aire con compresor alternante y los cojines antiescaras.
Estos colchones cuentan con un sistema de alternancia de las presiones que evita una compresión vascular prolongada.
Los cojines antiescaras soportan y alivian las presiones en todo el cuerpo, facilitando un descanso reparador y menos agitado. Se colocan en zonas de contacto prolongado (entre las piernas, en los tobillos,etc.) con el fin de evitar la úlceras por presión y nos aseguran a su vez un posicionamiento de gran comodidad para el paciente.
Para facilitar a la hora de las comidas o necesitar un espacio donde apoyar diferentes objetos, existen unas mesas auxialiares normalmente basculantes y graduables en altura.
Para las personas que deban pasar muchas horas en la cama también existen otro tipo de productos de apoyo como atriles de apoyo que permiten adoptar una postura más cómoda cuando se lee. Son ajustables en la inclinacióny cuentan con dos pestañas que sujetan las páginas.
